Description – essential information
Rethinking notions of value and shifting towards long-term thinking are necessary to create the ecosystems that collaboratively can change our economy from an extractive to a regenerative one.
The Long-Termism project is focused on a direct response to the strategic imperative of the European Commission which aims to transform Europe from a carbon-intensive society to a regenerative, net-zero carbon society. The strategic arguments for the need to shift from a short-term economic paradigm to a long-term economic paradigm are widely accepted. The theoretical evidence is strong. The project will pick up on the learnings, assets, and insights of the past work in 2019 and 2020 to:
a) provide critical experimentation infrastructure for long-term institutions,
b) develop key capabilities for a long-term oriented society and
c) establishing the economic viability of the business model of Systems Innovation as a Service and thus help to operationalize high-level European long-term strategies.
The Centre for Systems Solutions is responsible for developing and running social simulations events to make the long-term approach a common practice. Within this project, we are using The World’s Future simulation, New Shores game as well as the ENGAGE: Scenario-based social simulation creator to provide engaging experimentation with various target groups including researchers, policy-makers, businesses, communities, NGOs, and children.
CRS will contribute to portfolio activation, dissemination, and joint fundraising effort coordinated by Climate-KIC Holding BV.
The projects is supported by the EIT Climate-Kic Deep Demonstrations program and co-funded by EIT.
We invite you to follow the information (news) about the project.
