New Shores – testing the game with young learners
November evenings don’t have to be boring – as we learned last Friday, testing New Shores – a Game for Democracy with members of the local Kids and Youth Club run by the Association Żółty Parasol. Players landed on the sandy shores of a desert island which was to become their new home. Left alone to depend on the island’s resources, such as timber, coal, and forest fruit, the newcomers were trying to develop a brand new community. However, the task turned out to be much more complicated than they’d thought. Stricken by natural disasters and emerging conflicts of interest, players engaged in a real fight for survival! Yet, they did a great job, and their valuable comments allowed our team to set priorities while further developing the game, funded by the EU within the Erasmus+ project.
