On 25-26 November 2025, representatives of local and regional authorities, academia, business, NGOs and local communities gathered at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów for CLIMATE-CON 2025 – the 3rd Silesian Climate Convention.

This year’s edition focused on climate change adaptation and cooperation, with particular attention given to the Regional Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Silesian Voivodeship – the first document of its kind in Poland setting out directions for protecting the environment, natural resources and residents’ quality of life in the face of a changing climate.

Over two days, the programme featured 16 thematic sessions and six discussion blocks addressing issues such as water management, climate awareness and security, natural capital, sustainable action and cross-sector cooperation. Participants could also take part in practical workshops and explore solutions for climate-resilient cities, blue-green infrastructure and the transformation of post-mining and post-industrial areas.

Centre for Systems Solutions (CRS) was also present at CLIMATE-CON 2025 with its own exhibition stand. Throughout the conference, we had the opportunity to introduce visitors to our mission and showcase the methods and tools we use to help people and organisations better understand and navigate complex challenges. These include social and policy simulations, serious games and participatory systems mapping – approaches that combine systems thinking, scientific knowledge and stakeholder engagement to support learning, dialogue and collaborative decision-making.

Our presence at CLIMATE-CON provided an opportunity to meet people and organisations working on climate action and sustainability, exchange experiences and present practical ways of using systems approaches to address complex environmental and social challenges.

Organised by the Silesian Voivodeship within the LIFE-IP COALA project, CLIMATE-CON brought together different sectors and perspectives to exchange knowledge, experiences and practical approaches to building greater climate resilience.
